Escape the Chamber

Climate Voice — an advocacy organization focused on corporate climate accountability — wanted to mobilize employees inside major tech companies to push leadership toward stronger climate policy. The challenge was translating a complex policy issue into something engaging and culturally relevant for a tech-savvy audience. Inspired by the language and mechanics of video games, we developed “Escape the Chamber,” a campaign that reframed the issue as a collective challenge: helping companies break free from the influence of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a powerful lobbying group opposing many climate policies. The campaign paired a bold visual system with interactive experiences — including games, quizzes, and a petition platform — designed to drive participation and shareability. We launched the campaign with a video featuring climate activist Bill McKibben, supported by a digital rollout that encouraged employees at companies like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon to take action internally. The work generated thousands of petition signatures and earned national coverage in The Washington Post, driving more than 5.4M views and significantly expanding the campaign’s reach.
